Gigantes Islands 2016

3days & 2nights starts in…..

February 12, 2016. My journey to Gigantes started the moment the plane took off from Mactan International Airport in Cebu @ 2:45 pm. Bound for Iloilo, the city of LOVE!

We had lunch at SM Iloilo then took a long stroll at Esplanade Boardwalk. Had our photos taken while we enjoyed the view talking and walking along a lengthy stretch of river.

We also went to Molo Church. Right there, I fell in love with the city- a place you’d like to spend the rest of your life with. Aww!

BTW, we stayed at Ongbun Pension house for the night and headed straight to Estancia the morning after.

February 13, 2016
. It took 3 hours of land travel from Iloilo to Estancia Port.  From Estancia port to Gigantes Islands took 2 hours on a boat. We made it to Gigantes in the afternoon of February 13, 2016.

We visited the Lighthouse first. The view from the top is so breathtaking except that I have a slight  fear of heights which made it more fun!

And we also bought some handicrafts from this bubbly local kids.

We stayed in Bolobadian Island during our stay in Gigantes.

February 14, 2016. It rained. The gloomy weather pushed to just stay on the huts and wait for the sun to show up. But Mr. Sun keeped lurking somewhere hidden for hours but it didn’t stop us from Island hopping. That’s the spirit! Despite the rain and cloudy skies, we sailed off to all nearby islands, took photos, enjoyed the rain and savored the moments. We enjoyed the bumpy boat ride rather as much   the waves enjoy smashing our banca and splashing cold water slaps and hugs all over our face and body. All we could do is cheer, shout and laugh while we were rocked in the middle of the seawaters surrounding Gigantes Islands. A roller-coaster ride on the sea. How’s that for an adventure? You’ll definitely not forget it! Hehe.

This is San Antonia Island, the first stop over.

The Sandbar -2nd stop where we literally kissed the sea and shores under the stormy skies. Stayedonger here to swim! Look now! 😁👌🍀
And the spectacular Cabuyao Island where we get to take snapshots if its beautiful landscape from uphill.
And finally, the Tanke Lagoon! Experience the magnificent island feels by submerging your weights in the enclosed waters. As you can see, there are still monkeys lurking in the area – a peek of wonderful nature!
The FOOD. When traveling, we make it a great priority. Seafoods are underrated when you are feasting on meaty scallops, big crabs etc. Seafood. I must be a mermaid in my pastlife that I’ve grown to love seafood that much. More than the great food, the fresh ambiance and cool utopia are 100% available which makes life in the island more enticing and engaging compared to our mundane urban life made of daily routines and craps.

OLANGO Island 2016

Right after the Sinulog fever, I decided to embark on an island adventure I’ve been longing to do since I got here in Cebu. So I tagged along my brother who came here for the Sinulog festival.  Its a great thing because he takes good photos. Btw, we woke up late on a Monday (01.18.2016) tired from celebrating Sinulog through the streets of Cebu the day before. Imagine the long hikes we had since Saturday. We were already hyped for two days and now, another escapade comes to mind. And yes, all for the love of adventure and travel!

Good thing about having a day tour at Olango is that. . . it doesn’t cost much! (amazing, eh?) As a fan of DIY travels, I tried to stick to a specific budget(time&money). We had a jeepney ride to Movenpick Resort to get to the port. We arrived @exactly 1pm just in time for the boat’s departure. But its surely better to start early to enjoy the island more! It took us an hour to arrive at the port(movenpick) from the city(park mall). You can always get a cab to the port anyway. 🙂

We’re finally at Sta.Rosa Port in Olango Island. It costs only php15 plus php10 terminal fee to cross the sea. We had to pay php120 for the motorcab to the sanctuary but the regular fare is only php20 per person.

At the sanctuary, we rented snorkel ling equipments for php100 each plus php75 swimming costs. If you do not want to swim, you’ll only pay for php25 as your entrance fee. Other activities available are island hopping which costs php500. You can also paddle through the waters for php50 each on a small boat. We had snorkelling anyway and enjoyed swimming with schools of striped, small, and large and a blue starfish. I love snorkelling! 😘👍

We enjoyed swimming for 2 hours and decided to dry up and hike again to the bird sanctuary where the actual birds are. It was a 10 minute walk and we inserted some time snapping photos through out the hike. You’ll definitely have a greater time enjoying the beauty of peaceful and quite nature around you when you’re hiking. So I recommend you hike as much on your adventures.

At the sanctuary, we were provided with one telescope to peer through in order to see far-flung birds. The entrance fee is php30 each. Not bad! Look at our snapshots. Who would have thought of a Paradise like this. It’s so peaceful in here that I’d love to stay further.

We allotted 30 mins bird watching, photo snapping, and admiring the place. I haven’t had more photos of the birds since my camera’s battery was drained out. (Now that’s too bad!) Anyhow, I managed to snap one last pic of a single bird on our way back. Yeah!

Its a wrap! We rode on a motorcycle on our way to Sta. Rosa port costing php30 each. And voila, we arrived just in time and had to run our way for the boat’s departure. 5pm. Haha! This Olango trip was an awesome adventure with our limited time and budget. We escaped again for a day.  Back to the city we go!!!!

Christmas at Home!

I’m home for Christmas 2015. Finally got the chance to be free– no worries, no alarm clocks, no city’s hustle. This got me like, goodbye STRESS! It surely is time to celebrate.

Christmas at home is unconventionally joyous. By joyous I mean, there’s peace and tranquil happiness like no other. Nothing beats being able to sit and relax in the comfort of your own sofa bed not worrying about anything at all. For me, this is what Christmas should be. Getting to spend this holiday season with your loved ones and having to create bountiful memories with them is priceless. It truly is indeed merrier to spend time with people you love than to spend money on things. But you see, nothing is perfect. Every story isn’t. Even though we see happiness all around us, there will be sadness lurking around the corners. In every sunrise, there is a sunset. The truth will set us free though- to choose. Happiness is in the end a choice! Live well. Choose to be happy. Its a Merry Christmas after all!   😀

So here is the highlight of Christmas2015: food.

Happy New Year: 2016!

How did I celebrate the new year?

Lemme start with my first ever selfie for the year 2016 taken a few minutes after the clock struck 12am today. So here it is.

image

Wishing everyone a great and promising 2016 ahead. Let’s all face the year of the monkey with a smile, after all, a smile is the greatest accessory a person could ever wear. While everyone else is celebrating on vacation or outdoors,      here I am joyfully shouting my heart out with wishes and jumping my way up with hopes.( Ya know the homebody in me loves it so much!) And one good thing about it is being able to spend time with family at home. Dumaguete is the place to be. Home, as they say, is truly where the heart is. And true, yes, for me! Yay! Lezz enjoy the lights and the horns. No fireworks. Just “torotots”. While prepping for the most awaited moment, I got me a snapshot of my torotot moment.

image

This is actually what makes every new year special- the thought of anticipating, hoping and getting excited for some thing brand new and finding unexpected joys and sometimes getting lost in the right places. Just like this little furball who got lost and found his hiding haven(perhaps away from terrifying noises)  inside our humble abode.

Be brave little one!! ✌😻🙏

So, as the year starts the first of 366 pages, I personally welcome all the greatest of things to come into our lives. May this year be the greatest year for all of us! I wish for more travels, escapades, artworks, new creations, fashion , and blog posts. Success is coming our way! Yohoo! I am claiming it. This will be my year wherein I’ll be able to find great fulfillment and passion-filled energy.

And more fats with great food too. Yay!

Note to myself: Trust in the magic of new beginnings. Trust in God’s perfect time and His provision. He has the best of everything in store for you. Hakuna matata! 😻😘💞

October 30, 2015.

image

This is a day before my 28th birthday and the birthday of my new blog as a freespirited gypsy. May this good luck sign bring forth great things ahead. I always thought that my 28th will be lucky. For all you know,  I’ve been so depressed lately and can’t find my usual way. But Voila!  Thanks to this amazing idea–i got this renewed spirit!  I always loved dreaming-living like a gypsy, having a  Boho lifestyle traveling everywhere. And of course, writing. It has always been my way of self evaluation and keeping in touch with my inner soul.  I find peace and stability in it. Thus,  this BLOG!  Welcoming my self -BohoLamb369 to a whole new free-spirited journey which will be virtually documented all throughout this medium.  I am grateful for this life and i want to share every little thing that makes me smile and inspires me to live it to the fullest. This is the start of a great adventure for me as i turn 28 tomorrow. May ifindwhat I’m really looking for and find meaning to all my questions. May i fulfill what God has planned for me and give it all back to Him. May all our wishes come true fellow gypsies. NEVER STOP DREAMING!

Enjoy!

Xoxo,
