3days & 2nights starts in…..
February 12, 2016. My journey to Gigantes started the moment the plane took off from Mactan International Airport in Cebu @ 2:45 pm. Bound for Iloilo, the city of LOVE!
We had lunch at SM Iloilo then took a long stroll at Esplanade Boardwalk. Had our photos taken while we enjoyed the view talking and walking along a lengthy stretch of river.
We also went to Molo Church. Right there, I fell in love with the city- a place you’d like to spend the rest of your life with. Aww!
BTW, we stayed at Ongbun Pension house for the night and headed straight to Estancia the morning after.
February 13, 2016. It took 3 hours of land travel from Iloilo to Estancia Port. From Estancia port to Gigantes Islands took 2 hours on a boat. We made it to Gigantes in the afternoon of February 13, 2016.
We visited the Lighthouse first. The view from the top is so breathtaking except that I have a slight fear of heights which made it more fun!
And we also bought some handicrafts from this bubbly local kids.
We stayed in Bolobadian Island during our stay in Gigantes.
February 14, 2016. It rained. The gloomy weather pushed to just stay on the huts and wait for the sun to show up. But Mr. Sun keeped lurking somewhere hidden for hours but it didn’t stop us from Island hopping. That’s the spirit! Despite the rain and cloudy skies, we sailed off to all nearby islands, took photos, enjoyed the rain and savored the moments. We enjoyed the bumpy boat ride rather as much the waves enjoy smashing our banca and splashing cold water slaps and hugs all over our face and body. All we could do is cheer, shout and laugh while we were rocked in the middle of the seawaters surrounding Gigantes Islands. A roller-coaster ride on the sea. How’s that for an adventure? You’ll definitely not forget it! Hehe.
This is San Antonia Island, the first stop over.
The Sandbar -2nd stop where we literally kissed the sea and shores under the stormy skies. Stayedonger here to swim! Look now! 😁👌🍀
And the spectacular Cabuyao Island where we get to take snapshots if its beautiful landscape from uphill.
And finally, the Tanke Lagoon! Experience the magnificent island feels by submerging your weights in the enclosed waters. As you can see, there are still monkeys lurking in the area – a peek of wonderful nature!
The FOOD. When traveling, we make it a great priority. Seafoods are underrated when you are feasting on meaty scallops, big crabs etc. Seafood. I must be a mermaid in my pastlife that I’ve grown to love seafood that much. More than the great food, the fresh ambiance and cool utopia are 100% available which makes life in the island more enticing and engaging compared to our mundane urban life made of daily routines and craps.
